I Ching Counseling
We, Carol Anthony and Hanna Moog, are offering counseling for people who are somewhat familiar with our books I Ching, the Oracle of the Cosmic Way, or Healing Yourself the Cosmic Way.
Our counseling includes health, relationship, workplace, material issues, or other issues of real concern.
How does I Ching counseling differ from other forms of counseling?
It takes place under the guidance of the Sage that speaks through the I Ching oracle. The Sage is the Cosmic Teacher every person is born with. In this function it also watches over the contents of your subconscious, where your fears, self-doubt, and guilt are stored, to prevent you from getting overwhelmed by them. When we ask the Sage to guide us in the counseling process, it makes sure that only that aspect is brought onto the stage of your conscious mindthat is causing the difficulty you are concerned with. Furthermore, the Sage brings to light these matters in the exact sequence needed for them to be dealt with.
Our role as counselors is to ask the Sage, on your behalf, to address the issue from the Cosmic perspective, which is the same as being shown your inner truth about it. By inner truth we refer to the deep inner knowledge about ourselves and about the Cosmos that is stored in our DNA. In another meaning, “inner truth” is the name given to the actual inner cause(s) of the problematical issue you wish to resolve.
Almost all difficulties are caused by ideas and beliefs that are in conflict with the Cosmic Principles of Harmony. These Principles ensure the duration of the Cosmos. The Sage points out those Principles that were violated in the issue at hand, and hints at the idea or belief that has caused the violation. In the light of these Principles you can see with clarity the untruth of the idea in question.
The goal of I Ching Counseling is not to tell you what you need to do in terms of outer action. Rather you are being shown the cause(s) of the difficulty at hand as lying in mistaken ideas or beliefs that are stored in your psyche.
Finding out that we have violated a Cosmic Principle of Harmony does not mean that we are guilty. Guilt is a concept invented by humans to control others. The Cosmos always helps us correct our mistaken ideas and beliefs when we have the sincere desire to bring our thinking into harmony with its Principles.
Common causes of difficulties are:
- The use of power, be it in thought, spoken words, or action
- Misunderstandings of our natural relationship with the Cosmos
- Misunderstandings about human relations
- Mistaken ideas about human nature
- The taking on of guilt
The Practical Procedure
Before we undertake to do counseling, we first ask the Sage whether what you ask is within the current scope of our work.
In our counseling practice, we ask you to describe your particular concern or need in an email. We then do an I Ching session to allow the Sage to show us the issue from the Cosmic perspective. The answer is usually given in the form of one or more of the 64 hexagrams of the I Ching.
We then engage in an active communication with the Sage by putting forth hypotheses as to the specific meaning of the metaphors used in the oracle text, in regard to your concern. In this process, we draw on our long experience in communicating with the Sage. Upon completing our session, we send you a transcript of the session, including our personal commentaries. The transcript also includes the mistaken ideas or beliefs we have identified as the cause(s) of the difficulty, and instructions for their “deprogramming.” By this we mean methods that allow you to free your psyche from these ideas or beliefs, with Cosmic help. Through doing this inner work of removing the cause(s) of the difficulty, the situation you are concerned about is brought into harmony with the Cosmos. The result is the “good fortune” or “success” mentioned in so many hexagrams of the I Ching.
Since our counseling is based on our books, I Ching, The Oracle of the Cosmic Way, and Healing Yourself the Cosmic Way, it is essential that you have some familiarity with one or the other book depending on the issue of your concern.
After we have sent you the transcript, you may wish to ask questions. In this case, we can arrange a telephone conference.
We limit our first consultation to 1-1/2 hours, and will continue only if you wish to go further. The minimum charge is for one hour. Any follow-up telephone time is charged on the basis of the actual time spent.
