I had an interesting perspective given me on the flooding, about acknowledging the place of humans in nature, and affirming the inter-relationships of all of nature. Still digesting this enlarging view. Much great community work to repair houses among total strangers has emerged, with many people freed from their social masks, their true selves alive and full of energy. How to sustain this? It seems to me that the way we live in the West, smothered in messages of the collective ego and the relentless push to buy-consume-display, is so destructive to free expression of our uniqueness and creative agency.
